Colorful Light Opal from Lightning Ridge Australia, weighing 1 ct and measuring 8.5 x 5.0 x 2.8 mm. This opal has red/yellow and orange on one side and blue green on the other side which gives it an interesting look. On one side the color bar is almost the full height of the stone with a think layer of potch underneath the blue/green side the color bar is thinner with a thin layer of potch. Underneath the potch is a bit of a sandy potchy base which might or might not make the opal unstable.
